Virgin Atlantic drar igång London-Manchester

Virgin Atlantic är i startgroparna med att dra igång linjen London Heathrow-Manchester. Målsättningen är att linjen ska vara igång till våren med tre avgångar i vardera riktningen.



De slots som kommer användas är inte några av de som BA fått lämna efter utköpet av BMI utan slots som ska ha lånats ut till andra flygbolag.



Målsättningen är förstås att ta upp konkurrensen med BA men också för att få transfer passagerare till bolagets långlinjer från Heathrow. Virgin Atlantic menar att många av de passagerare som idag flyger från Manchester med byte på Heathrow reser vidare till destinationer som Virgin Atlantic trafikerar, bl.a. Boston, Kapstaden och Hong Kong.



Vi får se om SAS nappar på ett samarbete med Virgin Atlantic, nu när BMI är borta och det saknas ett interline avtal med BA.
 
Det vore ju inte helt fel om de gjorde det. För egen del hade jag önskat att de också inledde ett samarbete med Air Malta så att jag kan åka på en och samma bokning hela vägen till/från Malta. Ändå sunt med konkurrens och att VS kan feeda från MAN.
