Ok interesting. I wonder how they check for this. Will they ask for every hotel that I have stayed during my trip and then check if they accept Amex or not? The major chains (Hilton, Accor etc.) will almost universally accept Amex. I checked with AXA today and their answer was that you could withdraw cash with your Amex and pay with them. Then you are considered to have payed with Amex.
