Min chef åkte med concorde några gånger när han jobbade på Siemens och det är man ju lite avis på men kul för honom som är teknikintresserad att ha fått åka den.

Lite udda fråga till er som var med på den tiden, var dom resorna alltid fullsatta eller släpptes det någon gång award-resor med Concorden? Kan tänka mig en hel del anledningar till att det inte gjordes det om nu så är fallet men samtidigt vore det ju lite kul om dom släppte sådana. Step 1) Buy 21 subscriptions to Inside Flyer magazine for a total cost of $1258.95. Get a total of 52500 starwood points.



Step 2) Transfer the 52500 starwood points into a Qantas account. One starwood point is worth 2 QF points, so with the starwood bonus, 52500 starwood points becomes 125,000 Qantas points.

There were award trips too. A group of FTers such as myself and others bought a large number of InsideFlyer magazine subscriptions for promotional Starwood hotel points that were then converted to QF miles in order to fly BA's Concorde with miles. Think we were buying the magazine lots for around $1250 per lot. I don't recall if we sent some subscriptions to addresses at the US Congress too, but those subscriptions were going all over the place.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7



There were some non-US buyers too, IIRC, sending subscriptions around the US.



The regular cash price for tickets for BA Concorde were very high at the time. But I was then looking at it from the perspective of AA JFK-LHR negotiated round trip in business class for c. $1600 round trip even as more typically that was very cheap compared to regular business class prices for AA and BA JFK-LHR-JFK .



US citizenship comes with more burden than cheap miles: lifetime of filing US tax/treasury paperwork and non-US financial institutions making life extra difficult when wanting to open accounts.
 
När jag & sonen var i NY så givetvis var vi tvungna att ta Concorde tour vid Intrepid. Så han fick insikt i detta magiska flygplan. Som nämnt innan, inte direkt rymligt och jämförelsen mot Business class som vi flög till NY i var tydlig. Kuriosa, just det planet innehar världsrekordet över Atlanten.
