Franska lågpriståget Ouigo till Spanien 2021

Den statliga franska tågaktören SNCF har idag kommunicerat att deras lågkostnadsdivision Ouigo lanseras på den spanska marknaden i Mars 2021. Biljetter släpps redan imorgon, med lanseringspriser från 1€. Inledande handlar det om Madrid till Barcelona, via Zaragoza.



Tågen är desamma som på den franska marknaden, höghastighetståg i två våningar med sätesdensitet såsom på flyget (tät alltså).



Bolaget har med sina 18 existerande linjer nått stor framgång i Frankrike där från-priserna ligger på 10€. Spanska marknaden förväntas bli mer konkurrensutsatt av bl.a nationella spanska bolag samt ett samarbete mellan Italienska Trenitalia och det spanska flygbolaget Air Europa.

Vi får se om det pressar priserna ytterligare.

Ouigo Spain reaches 1 million passengers - International Railway Journal

SPANISH low-cost operator Ouigo Spain carried its millionth passenger on November 29,

just over six months after commencing operation of high-speed services between Barcelona and Madrid.




Ouigo is also set to expand its service from Madrid to Valencia in spring 2022, offering three trains per day in each direction.

It is also expected to introduce two daily trains between Madrid and Alicante in the middle of next year when its trains are

permitted to operate on lines equipped with ERTMS Level 2.

The operator will also serve the Madrid – Seville/Malaga corridor under the terms of its operating agreement.

This will require the trains to be compatible with the LZB signalling system.

ILSA starts homologation for Spanish debut | RailTech.com

ILSA plans to start its operations in the second half of 2022 and will represent 30 percent of the high-speed market in Spain.

The company will connect Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Alicante, Córdoba and Malaga in a first phase.

Later on, the operator aims at more routes in Spain, as well as operations in other European countries.



ILSA is a private company, and the first high-speed operator in Spain for which is the case.

One of the shareholders however is Trenitalia, part of Italian State Railways.

Other shareholder is Air Nostrum, a Spanish regional airline based in Valencia.
